Champlain Canalway Trail (CCT) Family Bicycle Celebration at the Waterford Canal Festival

Join us at the Waterford Canal Festival for the Champlain Canalway Trail Family Bicycle Celebration.

This is an 11-mile round-trip bicycle ride, starting at Lock 2 and ending at Upper Newtown Road in Halfmoon before the return journey. This is not a race, so you're encouraged to cycle at your own pace, enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the Champlain Canalway Trail.

The ride will be led by experienced members of the Albany Bicycle Coalition, who will be there to guide the route, provide safety oversight, and answer any questions you may have about cycling and the canalway.

For the safety and enjoyment of all, participants are required to bring their own bicycle and helmet. Please ensure your bicycle is in good working condition before the event. This event is suitable for all ages and cycling abilities.

The ride starts at Lock 2, Champlain Canalway Trail, with the mid-way point at Upper Newtown Road in Halfmoon, before returning back.

Safety is our top priority. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. All participants are required to wear helmets for the duration of the ride.
